Teaching our littles about social justice
This week we've been focusing on reading books about civil rights and Martin Luther King, Jr.

When it comes to teaching our littles and helping them to understand, it helps to find great books that help us to articulate some of these harder topics.
I think a lot of times people don't give kids enough credit thinking they're too young or innocent to understand. Or they don't want to ruin their childhood. But not only are they able to understand but they're able to retain it and apply it.
Benicio loves to learn and ask questions. As soon as we read our MLK book he asked to make a sign - you can see it on my instagram.
It is very important to teach our children about slavery, segregation and the civil rights. It is very important because we are still living in a world where racism is rampant and they need to understand how to identify and why it isn't ok and that they can (and should) speak out against it.
