the wedding of the century and germany

The wedding was an absolute, beautiful success! Caitlin was such a beautiful bride and the setting was amazing. If you live in Georgia and have the opportunity to visit Serenbe or better yet stay at Serenbe - you need to. We stayed in the mainhouse and had a view overlooking the garden. I'm glad we decided to stay onsite near everyone. It really was such a magical weekend. So many friends and family came from all over the country and everyone was there to celebrate.

Lucky for us, our post wedding depression was cured with our big trip to Germany! This was our first time visiting this part of Europe and getting a little over into Eastern Europe. The flight over was pretty painless. We took a connecting flight in Charlotte jetted over to Frankfurt. We got there at about 7:30 am the next day. I did my best to stay awake as long as possible but felt seriously delirious.

This building blew my mind. It looked liked something out of The Fifth Element. From the airport we drove to my brother-in-law's house in Otterbach - I'm so jealous of his view.

The town is very small and there isn't much happening but it is a nice place to relax. One thing I discovered is that Germans love to garden. His neighbors have done some beautiful landscaping on the property.

We visited the local butcher shop and headed to the grocery store to pickup supplies for a cookout. Once we got back to the house I took a glorious 3.5 hour nap! It was much needed and definitely helped me adjust to the time change. After an evening of grilling, cake eating and dart playing - we went to bed and prepared for our trip to Munich the next day.
