Pagosa Springs

A couple weekends ago, we took a family road trip down to Pagosa Springs and stayed in our cousin's house. It's about 6 hours southwest of Denver through the mountains. The drive down was gorgeous. The aspens were just starting to change coloring the mountains with flecks of gold.

We all had a great time. It had been 8 years since we'd seen each other so there were some tears and lots of catching up. Bobby and I explored the forest their property backs up. Everyone kept telling us bear and mountain lion stories but all we saw was a deer and cows. 

Benicio was a rockstar in the car! We only stopped for gas and one bathroom break. We kept him entertained with a goody bag of new toys and stickers.

While Benicio and I napped, Bobby went fishing with my cousin and together they caught three trout. We brought one home and it was so delicious and fresh. There's lots to do there but mostly we just relaxed and enjoyed each others company. I know we'll be back soon. I definitely want to take a dip in the hot springs!

We ate lots of delicious food and probably gained 5 pounds in two days but who cares. It was worth it, haha!
