Babymoon: Los Angeles
It's always so bittersweet to come home from vacation. To go back to routine. But this vacation was very special for us - it was our babymoon.
We'd been planning on going to LA since before I found out I was pregnant and I'm glad we had already booked everything. Knowing us, we would've opted to save the money. It was wonderful to take some much needed time away from work and home to just indulge. I got to take naps every day, we ate tons of delicious fresh foods and drank lots of fresh coconut juice. Divine.
The day we flew out was on Bobby's birthday - his Golden birthday. I love that the year of his Golden birthday is also the day he becomes a Dad. We spent the first half of our trip in a lovely 1920s bungalow apartment in Echo Park. I absolutely loved that neighborhood. We woke up bright and early every morning and explored our surroundings. The morning colors and crisp air made everything so refreshing yet feel familiar. The second half was spent in an apartment near Venice Beach - which definitely had a different feel. The house had a TV which was an indulgence for us since we don't have one at home. I may or may not have watched a Twilight movie.
